Hello Need Help. 78 Bronco Vibration In Rear When Coming To Stop. The Truck Has 9 Inch Suspension Lift And 35" Tires On 12's Getting Ready To Put 39's On It But Would Like To Work Out The Corks First. Also Looking For A Good Painter In Va Beach To Finish The Truck Off. Thanks
The Truck Has Been Sitting For 4 Years I Bought It For $1200.00 With The Lift And Tires As Is. It Was A Steal. Also Putting 3" Body Lift To Fit The Biggest Tire I Can. Runs Great No Other Problem Except The Vibration. Thanks
I had a 79 bronco with 9 inch suspension and a 3 inch body lift. I never had a troubles from it. I use to drive it to work with 40 inch tires on it down the highway. My speed would never go much over 55mph. Later I mounted 44 inch tires. No virbation.
I would start with checking for loose components and then have the drive shaft checked out. It may be bent.
Thank You, What Size Gears Did You Put In The Truck To Run 44's? Wouldlove To See Pictures. Also, Brand New Driveshaft Was Installed When I Bought It. But I'm Told It May Be The Rear Springs? What Yo Think. Thanks
I run about 12" of rear lift , sounds like pinion angle prob, what kind of lift is in the rear? Blocks, springs, shackle flip, etc.? What speed is the vibration? does it feel like the speed of the wheels,or the driveshaft, does the vibration happen when you decelerate or only during braking?
Springs W/block, The Vibration Only Occurs When You Come To A Stop. Hit The Brakes And The Vibration Starts And Gets Worse With The Stop. Angle Alittle Up But Not Bad Considered What I Have Seen On Other Broncos. Thanks For The Help.
check for rotors or drums out of round, driving slowly, slightly depress your p/brake, til you feel it drag, if it pulses it is your drums on the rear, if it dosn't then check the frt. rotors for warpage. this may intail removing them unless you have access to a dial ind. either way it's not an expensive fix.
