Please help - I'm stuck. I picked up a 1973 F600 crew cab/stake body with a 3000# tommy lift gate for $300. Whats the catch? I doesnt run of course. I do not even know what motor is in the beast. It is not a motor I have seen before in all the 30+ Fords I have owned.
VIN# F60DCR20007
WB 194
Color 6
Model F600 2
Body 8
Trans A
Axle 642
GVW 16000
DSO 250130
Whatever the motor is I also need help with engine swap compatibility. I would much rather drop in a 351 or 390 for ease of finding parts bu tI do not wnat to have to change the clutch housing.
Any help is greatly appreciated

From looking at my Ford shop manual, your truck should have originally had a 330 - 2V H.D. motor with an NP 435 4 spd. The rear end would most likely be a Rockwell f-106 with a 6.80 gear ratio. Hope this helps. I am not sure if the 330 and the 390 are a perfect swap but they may very well be.
