Auto Trans question please...

I tried the search, but my computer is so friggen slow it would take me days to get through all the posts.

Anybody got any idea what tranny I may have. It's an '82 F250XL with a carbed 302. 3spd auto trans.

does the transmission pan have 11 or 17 bolts? if it is 11, it is either a c4 or c5. If it has 17 bolts, it is a c-6.

something that helped me out was the PAW catalog, turn to their transmission section and they have a pan id guide.

C4/c5

You can tell the difference between C4 & C5 trannies by the shape of the oil pan. C4 = flat/C5 = hump in the middle. Otherwise they look pretty much the same.
