Distributor module

I have a 1985 Bronco 2 with the spineless 2.8 and a distributor module that fails without warning. We have replaced the module and distributor...all to no avail. We have bypassed the harness and performed every test that we can think of...again to no avail. The local Ford mechanics just shake their heads.
There are no after market products attached to the system and everything electrical is original. If any of you are aware of this module problem and know of a cure...I'm all ears!

Distributor module

I had the same problem on an 84 F150. Replaced the module several times. It turned out to be the pickup stator in the dist. itself. $14 from local parts store, about 2 hours labor.

Distributor module

I had a similar problem on my f150. It just died at the lights and after towing it home I brought the module to my parts guy who has a tested and it was cooked. After replacing it, still no spark, check the coil resistance and it was fine but went ahead and replaced it as well after reading about a similar problem here on the list.
