MLPS: Manual Lever Position Sensor. It tells the computer what gear it's in, and also controls the neutral safety and back up lights.

Problem Solved Thank you everyone for your input, suggestions, thoughts, and ideas. I am happy to report that the Irratic Jerking situation has been corrected. It apparently was the same problem Culvert had in the past with his truck. Upon replacing the Spark Plug Wires The Irratic Jerking stopped completely, and my '96 F150 is once again purring like a kitten. (now if I could just get my '81 F350 Dually to act that way) ahhh wellll, that's another post I'm sure.
Thanks again guys, It's great to know your out there, and that us Ford Truck lovers have a forum such as this to stick together.
