Hi-Perf. Sparkplug Wires
Hello All. Well I installed Hedman Hedders last Sunday, what a pain that was. They connect right to the existing flanges though so I didn't have to modify too much besides cutting the dipstick bracket and got rid of those hideously twisted heat shields. Anyhow now I need to get heat resistant spark plug wires. My new plan is to get the MSD 6a Ignition and Blaster TFI coil. HOWEVER MSD wants $149 CDN for plug wires and I can get other ones for $40. My question is how special are these MSD wires that they would warrant such a price?

I used Taylor wires (MSD wants you to use spiral wound wires) with my MSD6A and used one of those nice wire brackets that run all the plug wires down the side of the valve covers. The wire brackets hold the wires up above and away from the headers and I don't seem to have any problems with them. In fact, I got the stainless covered wires (not recommended by MSD and they cost about $45) and they look good and preform great. If you still feel you need some heat insulation, get the insulator boots that cover the end of your plug wires where they run next to your headers.
