1979 chassis lengths
i have a 79 2wd supercab short bed 460 c-6. I am wanting to know if has the same frame as a 79 4wd regular cab long bed. im wanting to do the swap but 4wd supercab shortbeds are scarce around here. if they are the same i know i will probably have to move a body mount any help would be appreciated

Frond end is completely different. 2wd trucks use coils/radius arms, and have the steering box aft of the i-beams. Supercab f-150's use leaf springs (like the F-250) and have the steering box in front of the axle. Do a search on the 73-79 board. Most of the threads I've seen of people actually completing this swap say they should've just found a donor to begin with.
You could try cutting out the front portion of the frame on a 4x4 truck and welding it in to the supercab chassis. It would end up being less work than trying to put a supercab on a reg cab frame.
