16.5 Tires

When i put on my new tires for my 76 i put on 35/12.50's/16's and i checked the speedo by having a friend who is on the local cop shop i drove 55 on my truck and he clocked me at 60 so mine is 5 off.

Spend a buck and put some nice 17's, 18's or even 20's (inch rims) on there. BFG, Toyo...... there are more and more companies making good truck tires for these sizes.
I can't believe tire companies would stop making 16.5's. I'd guess it's within the top 5 most popular tire size on trucks over the past 40 plus years. It would be like Mcdonalds deciding not to sell french fries anymore.

On the 33 x 12.00 x 16.5 there is no safety bead to hold the tire once the air is removed by puncture or driving on a flat the tire will come off as well as people who have installed (tried to) 16.5 tires on 16 rims. The only 12.00's available today are M /S or off road only, tire manufactures way of protecting their butt from liability issues.
