As some of you know from my build, the mules heart is having complications at 810,000 miles and a long trip to Cali, she decided to use a gallon of oil coming back and has a crap load of blow by. I decided to not even do a compression test no more as with that many miles she had enough. Prior the trip truck was and still is running strong with no weird or abnormal sounds. Heres the truck fully warmed up and look at the haze it also smells like oil.
I wasnt towing anything either just my wife, kids and my fat ***
The pressure and oil being squirted out behind the blow by is enough to tell me that part of a piston ring is missing or gone from one cylinder. Truck has great power, has no miss truck actually felt powerfull going and coming from Arizona to Cali, maybe because I was at sea level?
The e99 block I had is at the machine shop but my guy has not done anything yet to my orders untill I have the $$$$ for an overhaul kit. Ill still drive the Mule till she cant kick no more
The tranny has done great even at that many miles. Soon Ill update this thread to see what my machine guy tells me, on the block
Hate to hear that bud, but with that many miles, I would do just what you said, and drive it until it dies. Ya never know man......you may hit 1,000,000 miles!
Sorry to hear it and hate it for you. I can't tell you how much I hate truck problems! Mods are one thing, but catastrophic failure of any mechanics just plain SUCKS. I hope the new block works out. You could always find a cheap used 7.3 motor in the meantime or do like you and Bill said...just drive it till it dies.
As far I can tell it hasnt lost power, no knocks, but its hazing bluish on stop lights, im sure its a matter of time before she kicks for the last time. But ill get to see my machinist on Monday and give him the OK to check the block, hopefully I can get away from sleving the two cylinders that are sctored.
Something is off with the smell of the blow by on the engine its a rancid almost smells like sulfur, rotting meat, propane smell, it never smelled like that before, what could it be?

Sorry about the mule's motor. I'm sure you've looked, but I'm gonna ask anyway. Any water in the oil?
I wonder if you may just have some bad injector o-rings. I know that wouldn't cause the blow by, but may explain the haze and the smell.
The exhaust smells like straight oil, im thinking that the ccv send that gallon of oil straight to my intercooler, i drove her for 50miles today and notice the haze started to deminish blow by is still present and stinks, I forgot to note that I did an oil change today to see if the smell from the ccv went away but still present and even stronger now. As of now she runs perfect and is purring like a kitten but that blow by is got me worried.!

Negative, i cleaned it yesterday with brake cleaner, and was clean of debre mostly oil, i have the ccv routed thru the frame dumped just behind the cab. Even with the dog house and oil cap removed the pressure is alot, not enough to blow the cap of but enough to elevate it in a choo, choo motion and oil to spew out.
I was just kinda grasping at straws. I guess the only thing to really do is like we talked about the other night......just drive it. Hopefully you can get the other engine built before this one lets go. It sounds like its running fine, so not much else you can do.
