I thought it was an excellent movie. It was a darker movie as well. I don't think I have seen the other movies (maybe one of them) so I might have to check them out. Christian Bale did an excellent job in this movie.
Serious thought - come to think of it. The original comic story began in the long ago, and continued until WHEN?
How old did BATMAN become?
Did BATMAN ever die?
Did ROBIN?
How long did the series run?
What time frame was it set in?
Etc, etc...
The comics are still being printed monthly! Batman never died but was out of commission several yrs ago when Bane broke his back. The original Robin, Dick Greyson went on to become Nightwing. The 2nd Robin, Jason Todd (I think) was killed by the Joker. The 3rd Robin is Tim Drake. As for the time frame, it is set modern day.
I'm with you Greywolf - sort of.
"When I own it, I'll see it." Problem is I 'own' all of 4 movies - Bullitt, the original Gone In 60 Seconds, Search For The Holy Grail, and Life of Brian (and maybe a couple others given to me). I don't see this expanding any time soon (at least they're 'all' on DVD so they should last a good long time - or at least until the next 'new' format makes DVD obsolete and my DVD player dies. . .).
