Saw Batman Begins yesterday. Lots of dads out with their kids. Anyways...
I thoroughly enjoyed the movie. The best one so far. Without giving away too much, I thought the newspaper article with the headline saying "Drunken Billionaire Burns Down House" was pretty funny.
I thought it was great, they finally did justice to the original Batman, dark and scary. I ended up seeing it twice the first day it came out because I had the day off and a couple of my friends didnt so I got to see it in the afternoon and then in the evening with them. They all liked it also. Micheal Cain as Alfred did a good job, he made the character more than just a butler. The Scarecrow was good also, that was the guy from 28 Day's Later. This one sets a pretty high standard, I hope the Fantastic 4 can at least come close.
I thought it was great and my boys did too, it added a bit of humanity to Batmans ability's that the other movies lacked. Instead of looking like a gymnist that had rehearsed every flip, jump, and move that he made it was almost clumsy, but with his determination he still pulls it off. There was so much more depth and personality to the characters, especially to Alfred. I thought it was great, I hope it's a kick-off to some great sequals made the same way.
The newspaper headline was pretty funny... very well written and well played.
My boy and I enjoyed alot. Great effects, really good acting, and ditto on the Katie Holmes comments. Last but not least, I think that this Batmobile is the coolest one so far.
Absolutely the best Batman movie! Christian Bale is perfect for the darker, moodier Bruce Wayne that always should have been. Can't wait for the next one!
Yeah i think its much better than the other newer batman movies. The only thing i didnt like was the way he talked when he was in the suit. Yes i understand it was to help show he had a different personality when he was "batman" but the way he talked was just dumb, kinda ruined some scenes. Overall i thought it was great, i liked how it showed the darker side of the story.
I saw it a couple nights ago, afterwork. Enjoyed it much. I did like how Christian Bale played 2-roles, without having to much rub off onto another. Not just, Bruce Wayne in a suit, but Bruce Wayne, and the Batman. But thats just me.
I liked this one more than the others. Having a somewhat unknown actor playing the lead role seemed to work. All the actors seemed to give a lot of effort in this picture. I felt other Batmans movies were less polished, like they took less takes. The movie was dark, with more reference to the serious tone of the comics than the slapstick comedy of the series with Adam West that the prior movies always seemed to refer to. I saw it at the drive-in, which really adds to this one.
Likes: How he grunted falling on the fire escape before he got his wings.
Dislikes: His voice in the suit, got deeper as time went on and I actually think they might have dubbed toward the end.
My 2 teenage boys liked it, but then their standards are not up to mine.
The first half of the movie was just an excuse to have ninja fights. I expected to see Yoda walk into the dojo and start correcting dialogue. The bad guy's motive was incomprehensible.
