3 finger clutch

Went to change out my old 68 3 speed tranny this weekend and install my 75 3 speed with a floor shifter. While trying to put new tranny in I had the springs fall out of the friction plate! So need new plate, was going to replace all but I found out the headers won't let the fly wheel drop down without removing 1 side! The problem I see is the 3 finger pressure plate while trying to stab the tranny in the throwout bearing on the fork keeps falling down and I am conserned the bearing won't line back up on the top finger any suggestions? New just picked up a new disk and it is 11 " just like the old one but it only has 4 spring the old one has 6 any problems going to happen because of this. By the way did I tell you how heavy this little 3 speed is!!!

That older flywheel should have "muti bolt patterns" you should be able to run 11 1/2" disc and pressure plate. Caution, cheapo preasure plate baskets are .093" thick vs .132" thick basket material. With any power above a six cylinder motor, a aggressive left foot you will crack apart the basket, a bad thing. The throwout bearing should have two clips that hold it onto the throwout arm, something is wrong other wise.
