I know two different people who have the samesetup on theyre 300 I6's. One being an 86 bronco, and the other being an 84 F150. They have no cats, single 3" pipe going into a 5" diesel tip located behind the back tire where the stock tail pipe was, and it sounds REALLY REALLY good!!! Very deep, sounds good, not ricey, not like a v8, but has its own awesome sound.

Yup i picked up 8ft of 3" pipe for 35$ and they let me use their machine to bend it to my liking. I have it coming out just infront of the rear wheel. I think it looks better there. An it was all they had in stock.
But i really like it.
Has it's own sound. Like a dumptruck and a muscle car combined.
Hey 466, i know a guy that has a 5 inch straight pipe on his chevy diesel, would that set up sound like that? (of course it will sound better anyway, because its a ford)

Reason: Chevy
well i would actually have a 3" starting and then end it with a long 5" Tip. like i'm doing
I think 3" is even a little on the extreme side for size. Any thing bigger would kill lowend torque. 3" gives the deep sound and retains some backpressure.
3" is about as big as you want to go on a 300. But you still get a deep roar.
If someone tells me how to post sound clips i can get some of my truck.
