I want to get a little more power out of my 1989 F-150 4x4 Xlt Lariat. I already have a K&N FilterCharger and dual exhuast. I am in college and don't have a lot of money to spend for additional add-ons for a little while. I do not plan to replace this truck(used as a second vehicle) for awhile, so I thought about Ignition systems. I still have the factory(whitiker?)plug wires and I know that the engine needs plugs. Does anyone have anythoughts on cheap ignition upgrades?
Someone recently posted here that Split Fires were great ONLY if you included their wire set when installed. I have never used Split Fire, but have experienced AC Rapid Fires.I do say that it was a noticeable difference over regular Autolite's.You said you wanted cheap so I won't even mention a Jacobs Ignition System, but they do offer a great ignition coil upgrade.

They (Jacobs) are great ignition systems. Probably the best there is! I was considering maybe a Holley Annialator or accel. I was curious to what you can get: Does a system replace the coil, wires, and ignition?
