How do I remove the EGR->Intake Pipe?

How do I remove the EGR->Intake Pipe?
I am working on a 98 Explorer w/ a 4.0L V6 OHV. There is a pipe that runs from the EGR to the upper intake plenum. I can't find a way to remove it from the block so I can pull it out of the plenum. I have already removed the EGR valve and the only bolt I see that could possibly be holding it on is the one that holds down the oil dipstick tubing. Is the plenum just supposed to pull up, allowing that pipe to slide out? I've tried this many times, but it appears to be tied down by the tube. I looked in the throttle body and saw that the pipe comes up and curves toward the front of the vehicle inside of the plenum. Is this the same piece I see coming in from the EGR or is it just an attachment to the hole that the EGR pipe runs into? Perhaps I overlooked something in that general area.
I'm working on a head gasket replacement which I need to finish off tonight so any help would be greatly appreciated!
