idle problems
i have an 89 ford f150 with a efi 4.9 and a c6 tranny when i start my truck up in the morning it idles fine but when i tap the gas it hesitates almost stalls then revs up and if i don't give it a minute before i put it in gear it will stall what is wrong what can i do

I would suggest TugBoat,that you change the plugs and fuel filter right away as part of a pre-winter maintenance after swabbing the throttle bores clean with a barrel brush{nylon only}and some intake or carb cleaner,followed by cleaning the idle air bypass valve.I can guarranty improved performance just by cleaning the throttle and bypass valve. If still no luck,you will probably need a new ECT sensor and/or ACT sensor.
