Hi guys the first of two posts this one asking what may be a dumb question but I can't find the answer in the handbook or repair manual.
When clearing the overhead trip computer today I may have pressed both buttons for too long and the display showed.......zone1...zone2....zone3 all the way up tp zone12 anyone any idea what this is?
I thought it may be for different altitudes but maybe I'm just trying to be too clever....ANY IDEAS??????
These Zones are for the different parts of the country to Calibrate your compass System. Refer to your owners manual to see what Zone your are in. If you need help...Just let me know...I have my 02 Excursion Manual that shows the different Zones..
Sorry...My owners Manual just has the compass settings for the US...From looking at my map, I would take a gander to say that you would be in Zone 12...This is just a guess..
With the ignition to the ON position
Press and hold both trip computer controls. After about 4 seconds, the trip computer will enter zone setting mode. This mode will indicate ZONE on the computer.
Rlease both controls. Subsequent pressing of either control will increment the zone. Press the control repeatedly until the correct zone setting is displayed on the trip computer. (My guess would be Zone 12).
To exit the zone setting mode and save the displayed zone in memory release both controls for greater than 5 seconds.....
I would drive the Ex to a point DUE NORTH and see if the Calibaration is accurate..If not I have Zones up to 15 in my maual...I can see for certainty that your zone wil l be higher than Zone 11....
it's showing you the different areas of the country for the computer to set the magnetic deviation for the electronic compass. check the manual closely; it's in there.
