Howdy folks. I just purchased a 2002 black F250 reg cab. The truck is really great, low miles, but the previous owner put some of his "style" into the truck and had lots of swirly, pink and white pinstriping done all over the truck - the tailgate, around the door handles, the cab sides, the bed sides. It's just painted on, but how easy would it be to remove? I couldn't pass on the truck, but I'm really not fond of the pinstriping.
PS - it's an XLT, so it has the chrome bumpers and grille. Anyone have a guesstimate on what it would cost to have those painted black to match the body?
Painted on pinstriping can only be removed by methods which may damage the paint underneath, via sanding, chemicals, etc, so I would not attempt it. That is the advantage of using vinyl pinstriping, if one gets tired of them , just get a eraser wheel and off they come. jmo
On edit : bumper painting will vary shop to shop. Probaly 150 dollar a piece range. Just my guesstimate though,

Depending on what kind of paint was used lacquer thinner might take them off but you will have to buff to get a good gloss back. Maybe try on a small area.
