07 F150 Crew Cab Sub question..

Hello everyone.. I have a 2007 F150 4x4 Lariat Crew Cab..

It has the 6 disc changer (no nav, etc). Overall, the stereo is fine. My main complaint is that there just isn't enough low end to it. I would like to add a small sub. I do NOT want something ridiculously powerful, as I mainly listed to country.. I am not interested in drawing attention to myself or making the truck obnoxiously loud, I would just a like a LITTLE bass. So, this morning, I made a trip to a few local car audio stores. Of course when I start explaining it to them, they're trying to sell me underseat boxes with 2 12" subs and 1000 watt amps... way more than what I want.

My question is this.. since I am looking to add just a little low end to my music.. would a solo 10" sub suffice? Or, does the truck really need to have more than that? I am a COMPLETE rookie when it comes to car audio.. Thanks!

A 10 and 500 watt amp under the seat would do just fine. I'm a professional installer. I think they make a 10 inch box for your truck you just have to have a shallow sub. Rockford fosgate makes a great one in their R2 line. They can usually be had for around $80.

That's what I figured. I really appreciate your reply. The sub that was recommended was a JL Audio 10W0V3 and a 500 watt JL amp... But he tried to up-sell me on a ton more.

The 10 inch W0 JL is a good sub but JL amps get pricey. I'd check online somewhere like crutchfield or even eBay or amazon.
