I'm in the market for a new set of tires for my 2004 F-150 4x4 Supercrew Lariat. I'd like a more aggressive look, as well as, better off-road capabilites. Ultimatly I'd like an all terrain tire that will also perform well on the highway, which is where it will be 95% of the time. I have done some research here on this forum, and it seems like many recommend the Nitto Terra Grapplers. What size of tires could I fit on 18"x9" Eagle Alloy Series 178 rim with a 2" autospring level kit installed? Thanks.
* 325/60R18
* 325/65R18 (may be too big and/or require trimming)
* 355/65R18 (most likely too big)
Not much help, am I!? I would think either of the 325's would look/run just fine.
Thank for the info. I've also read that these tires are comparible to the BFG A/T's but most will recommend the Nitto because of the cheaper price tag. I have yet to find this difference in price. Where is a good place to pick up a set of these tires? Thanks.
I see them in no way compariable to BFG ATs. Cost is what sells them.
I wholesale tires for a living so I have alot of time to look at diffrent brands and do research and I personally would not put the terra grapplers on my 150.
Im getting 285/70-17s BFG ATs because I know the reliability.
Looking at the 325/60R18 it says approved rim (9.5)-10.5. Seems to me that this tire wouldn't work with the 18"x9" Eagle Alloy Series 178 rim. Is this correct?
I am running 325x60r18s on eagle 101s 18x9 with the 2.5" autospring, I had to trim a very slight amount off of my lower valence on the front under the bumper, barly a half an inch, These look awesome everyone thinks the truck has atleast a 3 inch body all the way around. Im very impressed with the terras so far almost 10k and no visible wear, still look new (like they should) Hope this helps, also I got mine on ebay I paid $687 for the new tires SHIPPED (guy wanted to put them on his truck, realized he ordered too big of tire and tire place wouldnt take them back) and $350 for the rims SHIPPED, just got to hunt for the deals and that can take a few weeks.

Well, my 7.5" stock Lariat 18" wheels are carrying my 285/60R18's ... rated for 8.0-(8.5)-10.0. Those are the "approved" rim guidelines. Lots of folks run tires that are a little larger than what's rated for their wheels. I don't think you'll have any problems.
Check out the following threads for info, pics, etc. BlkButy had this tire/wheel setup. He was full of good info. I think he changed tires (went bigger) before recently selling his truck. So, his gallery pics may not be 100% accurate for what you're wanting to see.
rack04, I looked at hundreds of rims and I like that Eagle Alloy Series 178 best of all.I was wondering what you are paying for them and where are you getting them from.Everywhere I have looked they were around $250 each.If I could find a good deal on them I might swing it.Thanks!Edit:I just remembered they come either polished or chrome.I think the chrome is about a hundred more.Thanks!
