Front End Allignment

Hi.
I have a 2002 Ford F250 Power Stroke 7.3L diesel with 34,000 miles on it.

Two days ago I bought four new tires, Micheline E-rated.
Part of the deal was a free front end allignment using a computer system.
After 3 times on the rack they decided that the allignment problem was worn front Camber/Caster adjustment bushings. The cost for replacement would be $220. Which would correct a tendency to drift to the right.

I checked with my local Ford Dealer to see if the front end was under warranty. It is not. When I described the condition to the service specialist he said that the drift to the right was normal and to not worry about it. Is it? Please advise.

Welcome to FTE!

It is covered under the 3yr/36000 mile warranty, which goes into effect the day its drove off the lot...not the year of the truck.

Make the service manager run the VIN asap to determine the exact sell date, and that will determine wether you could have it warrantied. Since yours is an '02 time is running out on those who have not broke the 36000 mile barrier.

just so you know... the camber shims are not worn out. they go inside the axle and the upper balljoint goes inside of that. they are fixed from the factory and when changed out because the camber/caster is out of spec , the new ones are adjustable or you can buy fixed ones plus or minus in 1/4 degree incriments. they ussually run like $50 per side and there are 2 of them. but it takes some time to get it right. may not have been right from the beginning , the upper BJ's are most likely worn a bit or the springs are sagging.

by whom??? the sway bar does just that. the caster or toe is off a bit. or you may need the swap the front tires side to side to correct this issue.
even the track bar on them would not usually be adjustable.

no it is not right, the caster or the toe is off. most likely the caster. a truck will fade to the more negative side.
