While I retired my baby from work today, and going to start planning its new rebirth. I have so many ideas rolling around, but really haven't figured out what I truly going to do yet.

Please take a look Into my gallery to see the bebore pics.

Tomorrow I will start post what I have planned. But for now I need to run.

1.Truck has solid and tight suspension.

2.Planning on a 4 to 6" lift. (will 35 or 36 tires fit without a lift?)

3.Rebuilt motor with alot of low end torque. (Have to start learning about this motor before I plan the build) Only have rebuilt 302's for racing engines in our 2 mustangs and one transplanted in a 72 toyota celica.

4.Boby is good shape, no rust and no minor dents anywhere.
Interier needs work, new seat, dash pulled apart and fix controlls, window gear, door panels, ect. Truct already has AC but I took the compresor off when I got the truck and haven't replaced it yet.

5. Replace all body mounting hardware.

6. Both gas tanks need to be replaced. They have splits on the top of both.

That is just the beginning, as I tear into to her alot more will come (and alot more will leave my pocket. lol)

If you guys have any advise on what else I need to be looking out for, or suggestion of what to do Please let me know.

Thanks Lee

My fuel tank recently cruised it's last mile also. My tank rusted out. I'm not sure what the long term will be like on my new tank, but I bought one of the polyethylene tanks from Jeff's bronco grave yard. It may crack wide open in a few years, but there's no worries about rust.

I tried to repair my poly tank about 4 years ago, It held for about two years and then the repair just let go. I haven't found a replacement tank for the style yet. I believe I looked at Jeff's but will have to look again. Thought about going with the large tank in the rear but I alrealy have punchered my spare tire that sits under the tank (twice) while I have been offroading. With the large tank the tire has to be relocated and all my protection of the gas tank is now gone. Just I could fab a special skip plate under the new tank.

I have a short wheel base F100. The only driving I do is city streets and high ways. Therefore puncturing the tank is not a big concern. If I were to have a 4 wheel drive and do some off roading, I would definately look in to making some sort of skid plate for it. Just out of curiosity....have you considered taking a piece of sheet metal as big as the box that the frame rails make around the tank, and drilling the 4 holes to match your tank straps? It looks to me like you could mount the piece of sheet metal to the same bolts that hold the tank straps, but on the out side of the straps. Should be a cheap, easy, and quick fix. What do you think?

Thats what I was thicking, but I will need to get to dims for the oversize rear tank because I believe it sets alot lower than the frame rails. So it will just take a little more fab work. Lucky for me, my bother is a forman at a large plant that makes custom duct work, most of it is made out of 3/16 to 1/2 plate. So he has the equipment to bent and fab all my stuff like this.
