I seacrched and didn't find anything, if anyone can direct me towards a different thread it would be appreciated.
My 65' F-100 has a T-98 tranny that is giving me fits. It will not shift into first at all. But that's not the main problem. The big problem is that it will only shift into 4th sporadicaly. Sometimes under load or hard acceleration, it's fine. Other times when I'm not driving too hard it will not shift to 4th for anything.
Has anyone had this problem? Anyone have any ideas how to go about fixing it? Anyone even know which weight oil I should be running? Any and all ideas are welcome.
well i would think that maybe the forks are worn out since you can shift in to gears just fine other wise. next i would suspect that the clutch is the problem. as for what wieght of oil to use straight 85 would work or what ever your local part store has on hand at the time
