Question Eddie Bauer vs Limited??

Novice here trying to decide what the differences are between the EB and the Limited in the 02 & 03 PSD year models. Which is the "more / most " luxury model? I thought the limited was the top of the line and the wife thinks the EB.

Thanks for the help!

the limited is the top of the line model. You will save a bit by going with the eddie bauer, and have most of the same features as the limited.

You might check www.nada.com .

In Southern Cal the Eddie Bauers resell for more than the limited, at least in the latest years. My buddie's 2003 limited has the same factory wheels as my 2005 EB. Other than interior trim color and exterier paint choices and rims they both have the same possible options... I THINK.... I don't know, I am not an expert on this!!!

I HAD to buy the 2005 Eddie Bauer because my wife HAD to have the forest green paint, and it was not available on the limited....so i ended up ordering my EX from the factory with every possible option and waiting a month...thank goodness for the "A" plan....

Eddie Bauer Has two-tone leather seating. Limited has all steering wheel controls (cruise and radio controls), EB only has Cruise. Limited has standard heated leather front seats, EB does not. Those are the biggest difference I can think of off the top of my head.

I have an 02 V10 Limited. While shopping for a PSD, I noticed they had VHS as opposed to a DVD player. I'm not quite sure if newer PSD have DVD players now. Also, my 02 V10 Limited has the 2-tone leather seats.

If I could do it over again, I really don't care about these "options", I'd rather get a PSD - hands down! More towing capability and long-lasting engines.

I still love my Excursion though.

Drive Safe,
Dan

Apparently the 2005 ED was the first to have all the steering wheel controls etc. like the limited did. For 2005 at least the only differences apparently are the wheels and the colors...and they are mutually exclusive. I do seem to remember that the limited also had a different style running board standard as well, again a matter of preference.

It would come down to a matter of taste I imagine...and like I mentioned NADA lists the EB as slightly more $$ used than the limited...a reflection of popularity rather than options, I imagine...

...again I am not an expert on every (any:-) year, and I guess in the past the Limiteds had exclusive differences like the steering wheel control cluster. Not for 2005, at least not on the totally loaded one I ordered, it has everything functional that a limited with every possible option can be ordered with.

Again I ordered mine from the factory with the comparison/availability charts in front of me, and went with the EB because my wife much preffered the paint/interior combo available only on the EB. And yes it is much "sportier"
I wanted all-white like I "always" get trucks, but am actually really glad now we got what we did, especially since I go camping/hunting etc. so much. The green/tan really looks great outdoors, one of my buddys sez it looks like a serious military rig from the front. Cool.

....and it is MISSING the same stuff that all the 2005 SuperDuty line are missing, like the hood insulation kit. I ordered mine with the push-pins yesterday...next will be working door lights, hood light...etc...

For the 2002 model year the "Limited" was the top of the line. If you want to get technical, the "Limited Ultimate" was it for 2002. 2002 was also the first year for the radio and a/c controls on the steering wheel; as well as the two-tone leather seats.

For the 2003-2005 model years the "Limited" trim was also the top of the line. The "Eddie Bauer" trim was introduced for people who didn't want a monochrome paint scheme (i.e all black or all mineral gray); as opposed to the two-tone paint job. The only real difference between the two trims are the leather seats and the paint. An Eddie Bauer can be indentically equipped to a Limited (minus the monochrome paint) if you order the "Eddie Bauer Premier Group". (i.e dual heated, power seats, radio and a/c controls on the wheel and so on....)

There you have it....

Aren't the wheels different? I have not looked at the 05's I have on 04 Limited 4x4 and it has different wheels than the 04 EB and non-two-tone anything, which I like. As far as differences though, nothing earth shattering.

The wheels are supposed to be different, but my buddy has a limited with the exact same wheels as my EB. The leather seats are two-tone in (my at least) EB, which again I did not want (wife) but everyone who gets in the first thing they say is "wow....awesome looking seats" Go Figure.

I think the auto a/c was also first offered in '02. My window sticker said LIMITED ULTIMATE.

The "Limited" wheels are different for the 2003-2005 model years. The "Eddie Bauer" trim was the old "Limited" trim (2000-2002) renamed; so naturally they kept the same rims on it.
