390 engine swap
I have an '84 f250 with a 302 with 4sp,I was wondering if any one has any heads up info on changing over to a 390? Any info would be greatly appreciated ! Thanks

Your going from a small block to a big block which means your motor mounts change and your tranny bell housing changes and, of course, you don't have any components that swap between the two engines. Probably not a bad swap, but you have a lot to change. Check shift linkages, drive shaft lengths and compare the wieght of the engines. You may want to beef up your front suspension a little.

Ed: How come you're going to an FE-series engine in this family of trucks? Have the engine lying around? Which 4-spd do you have? Try calling L&L products; they make 460 interchange pieces, perhaps they can steer you to someone who has hard information. The rough thing here is that Ford (in their infinite wisdom) discontinued the FE-series engine prior to the introduction of the '80 line of trucks, and so factory bolt-in parts were never made.
