Aloha All,
My fuel pump is leaking so went to stealership (my cousin works there so I get parts at his $) and got new pump. Found that my existing pump doesn't look like new pump. Existing pump has a round, flat plate on top covering banjo bolt. Plate says "Bosch" with numbers 240 169. Banjo side of existing pump seems longer than new pump, with banjo bolt DIRECTLY under turbo mounting plate. Any and all input will be greatly appreciated, aloha.
Yes, Your pump is different from the 49 state trucks. I've never seen the pump on the CA. models, but according to the book the pumps do not interchange.
Thanks for the clue Cookie88. I will go back to stealership and start over with the vin#. I should probably have done that in the first place, thanks again.
fyi,
i know you are getting the pump at his cost BUT, the aftermarket pumps have a LIFETIME warranty. it will go out again ! also, we put several ford pumps on and found they failed more often than the aftermarket ones. note: also...make sure it's the pump because it could be one of the fuel hoses or the vacum switch on the bottom of the fuel filter housing and it could even be the filter housing leaking. have a good one .
Thanks for the info fedextech! Yes, confirmed it is the fuel pump. Update-went to stealership with VIN #. They were unable to confirm that CA trucks uses a different pump, they show only 1 pump in their parts listing. They claim it's an aftermarket pump. If that were true then the previous owner had to remove the turbo and mounting pedestal to get this pump in. Just doesn't make sense to do that, easier to replace with same. Is there anyone with a CA truck out there that can confirm this please? Thanks for all of the help gang, aloha.

did you look @ the screen your self??? anyways you should be able to look online @ some fiche, not sure where but i have seen them before. then compare the 2 and give him the other part #.
Yep, saw the screen and only showed 1 type of pump. Also looked at a drawing of complete assembly including fuel filter housing and also showed only 1 type of pump.

I'm not having any luck finding the part number either, however the information I provided you came directly out of the Ford factory service manual, 97 model year. FWIW
OK here's the update. Pump totally crapped out Friday so I was forced to start tearing into it. Turns out the pump is identical to all other 49 state Ford pumps, what is different is the banjo assembly with the lines coming from back of engine. The round plate with "Bosch" on it is a damper and banjo bolt is also different-approx. 4" long. New pump connected right up to existing banjo assembly and leaks is now history. Thanks for all the help, aloha.
