Well the Cap'n is STILL in bits and pieces. The engine is running again and it screams with the new heads and cam. I'm going to have my cooling system wrapped up this weekend with the rear mount radiator. I started my brackets for it the other day and ran out of CO2 for the welder, just picked another tank so I'll get at it again tomorrow. I'm in the process of upgrading the fuel system now to make sure I have enough flow to keep up with things, but I'm having a hell of a time getting all the lines and fittings for it. New stall converter arrived today so if I get off my butt I may have my new tranny in next week. All the other parts are here . . . just waiting to be install: ARB's gears, anti-wrap bars, shocks, nitrous, disc brakes, CTM's, Superiors, new hood and fender . . . it's all there. I just need a lot of time now.
Sounds extremely nice, I'm jealous. Any specs on that motor? And are those rear disks you mention? I'll do you a favor, I'll trade you some of my time for some of your $$$
The engine is a relatively stock 460, bored .040 over (468ci). Rob persuaded me into buying Trick Flow heads and a new cam (234/244 .050 w/.595 lift). It really didn't take much effort. It's supposed to be around 550 horse according to DD2K. So with a good dose of nitrous I should succeed in blowing the whole thing up.
Disk brakes are from Blackbird's Custom Trucks here in Spokane. Buuuuuut I need to get the D70 regeared before it goes under the truck. I took on way too many projects at once but everything I start leads to 3 other things that I "should do while I'm at it" so it's never ending.
....then you'll have lots of time to just play with it afterwards....
**excercising extreme self control so I don't totally send this one to the toilet**
Yeah, me too Ryan. I have fairly predictable driving habits so after all the research it was pretty obvious what parts I did and did not need. I didn't want to have a long drawn out process of fixing something every weekend until I slowly built it into a competant rig.
I give him till the end of the first NO2 bottle run .
I give him till the first time he tries to outrun Pro's superbeast, and hits the ntrous in heavy mud. or tries a 4 wheel drive nitrous launch at he mall to impress the Jr High girls
Probably as long as it takes to go from the closest NO2 bottle fill place to the local mall on a friday night . Now the lenght of time it takes him to get the truck to that point is beyond me .

They were HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS, not JR HIGH . . . well most of them anyway.
Mark, I'm using the L&L fenderwell headers like yours. I love that it frees up so much space under the truck, I'll just have to see how much it affects the turning radius. I've got the Street Avenger on there right now but I'm planning to run a Predator if I can get it to work right. I played around with my Predator carbs a few weeks back and had all kinds of problems. I did a bunch of research and came up with a number of things that may have been causing my troubles so once I get stuff together I'll try them out again.
