Some good things to know are how to pull your codes. Visit fordfuelinjection.com to learn how. It took me a few trys to get the hang of counting the blinks but otherwise its easy.
This site is a wealth of info. You'll want to check out the articles/info link and play with the search feature too. On searching I always go advanced so I can limit the forums that get searched. Under Articles/Info you can also check for recalls and tsb's (service bulletins) in addition to listing the articles themselves. I haven't tried the maintenance log yet and can't comment.
Many users put their trucks info (make,model...)in their signature (Under usercp) so you can just scroll over it with your mouse and see it. Roll your mouse over the word signature in the top right of my reponse if you want to see how it works.
For you lack of power, I would suggest you start by pulling codes. You can have Autozone do it for you if they have the older scan tool. Many stores only have the 96+ one now. And yes, it could be caused by the o2 sensor but its better to waste 5 minutes pulling codes than $50.
For the knock, you really should find wheres its coming from. Is it coming from the top of the engine or the bottom?
Cheers,
Popa Tim
