ok i have an e40d tranny off a 93 5.0l f150 i pulled this number off the tranny rf-fotp-7006cb

so i figured out this means a 1990 tranny only one problem i dont think it is a 1990 because i looked at a 1990 and the tail stock was differnt and so was the shifting linkage and i beleive they changed the shifting linkage in 93?? so is there an exception to this rule?

also if anybody knows what years will fit my 93 f150 with out modifying anything and also if a 4.9l will fit too i was told i have to have a tranny of a 5.0l
