I just picked up a Holset H2E for my 460 turbo project. Before I spend any money on this turbo I am wondering if any one could tell me how compatible this unit will be. I plan on making 10 psi of boost no more, redline will be 5500 to 6000 rpm and running on Propane. The current combination is a .060 over block with forged dished pistons cj rods and a stud girdle. I plan on using D3 heads with a home port job and a cam yet to be determined. I have searched on this turbo I know it can flow 1000 cfms this is about 200 more than my combo calcutates out at. I guess my question is will this turbo make the boost I want at 2000 rpm or 4500 rpm? If boost starts to late I may switch to a smaller HX 35 found on the dodge Cummins diesel. Any input will be appreciated.
I am going to use a Technocarb 750 CFM with a Model F Vialle convertor . If one convertor is not enough the technocarb has provisions for two convertors
cool let me know how the technocarb works. is that a dual mixer adaptor for a single 4 bbl manifold i saw in your gallery?
the reason i ask is because i have a propane 460 in my 79 i have one impco 425 on a stock intake.
It is a single mixer the dual mixer Idea never got off the ground There where big time hood clearence issues even with the hole I cut in the hood, and in the end the two mixers would still draw through a single four barrel throttle plate.
I plan on going blow through. I already have all the propane stuff I need but that is a cool site. one advantage of the technocarb mixer is no diaphrams that can fail under boost like on the Impco mixer.
what does the technocarb setup cost? it looks like it would wake my ol 460 up compared to my singe impco 425. do you have to modify the mixer before feeding it the boost?
As far as I know you do'nt have to modify the mixer i geuss I will find out . I traded my complete new dual mixer impco set up for this technocarb and regulator. there is a fellow in my provence that sells them, he has a web site http://www.propaneguy.com/
