In the PPG commercial color chip chart for the 1971 Ford truck ( index # 18) it shows that Rangoon Red is paint code J , # 71243. But that is a 1970's PPG book with the paint chip index though, some 30 years old it is, ...
If you go to a PPG auto paint store now and ask them for this paint, the best they can do is a color match. They will not have the EXACT color/paint, for the original rangoon red that came out in the seventies. So , if you are doing a repair on a original rangoon red painted truck, it will not match. And at that it will NOT match EXACTLY to the old rangoon red, , because of the changes in paint technology in the last thirty years. If you are doing a new, all over paint job, and not having to match any existing paint, it will not matter anyway. You will just have a "new age" rangoon red truck, good luck, jmo
Ahhh, but if you look at the top right hand corner of this post you will see I'm in Spain, making a paint match with my local body shop man all the more harder. I found a few matches with an assortment of paint manufactures in a different search on the net but nothing has crossed over yet.

I might just settle for a nice fire engine red...
I did notice you were in Spain in my original reply, but you also asked for the PPG or Dupont code for rangoon red, I gave you the PPG one. There are MANY colors of reds to choose from in the paints today. Do not attempt to color match a vehicle from paint chips on the net, you will not be able to get a accurate match. Even when holding a chip from a selector book against the vehicle, it is hard to tell if its dead on until a whole panel gets painted. It is all about how the daylight light hits it. . . Good luck on your color selection , and thank you for giving me this opportunity to assist you.

My body guy is going to take a few selections of red colors and shoot some samples for me on scrap sheet metal. I think I will just go with a fire engine red, I like the deep red look and it is bright enough to catch your eye.
I printed off the link 1982fordf100 gave me, but the problem here is they just don't have the cars that used these color paints. I have used the 71243 paint code and it didn't cross over to anything in his computor inventory, but I question the accuracy of his program. We'll see what the paint vendor comes up with...
Thanks all for your help, when I get the truck back in a few weeks I'll post some pictures... unfortunatly I'm going to have some leftover green interior parts until I replace them so it will look a little like "Christmas"-green and red!
