I am looking for a dash pad for my 72, and have not found a wrecking yard yet that has one. As you say all the catalogs have them from 2 to 4 hundred. The same for a 2 spoke steering wheel. If anyone knows the where abouts of these 2 items I would appreciate a quick message, thanks.

Looks like this old thread has been resurrected. Anyhow, I think your best bet would be eBay. I found one on there last year for a shade over $100 with another $50 or so for shipping. There are still lots of good ones around, however, not where it's hot and dry. An alternative is to get rid of the pad altogether and enjoy a nice shiny metal dash. They really look good under that pad. Here's a photo.

Yup, same basic dash as a mid-60's truck. Just have to come up with some flow directors for the defrost, and fill the mounting holes.
I'm going with a brushed aluminum wrapper on my 72, as soon as I can find a dull finish clearcoat.
For now, I'm going to allow this thread to stick around, since it is pretty old stuff here. Just don't turn this into a buy/sell thread, please.
