It was first used in 1965 and used in all of the ford pickups and step vans.

I like my 300-6, but it doesn;t have a lot of umph on the hills or pulling a trailer. Rather than replacing the engine, I would like to supercharge the mother. Any kits that anyone is aware of. I have looked around a bit, but have not found a thing. Any help is appreciated.

I too have considered adding a supercharger or turbocharger to my engine. The problem lies in the speed density computer (well, that and the lack of space around the accessories). A Mass-Air computer will have to be installed to retain fuel injection and the E4OD controls. The '95 "California" trucks and '96 "50-state" trucks came with mass air PCM's which MAY allow modifications. I plan to start with a 2 1/4" dual exhaust with headers (maybe), MSD ignition, cold air induction like the K&N FI performance kit, maybe a V8 throttle body, and a chip from Superchips (last). I will also continue my quest to install a Mass Air computer from the later trucks. If anyone has any information or experience swapping these computers, I'd like to have words with ya.
