i think that these posts should list the post date and time on every post relpy.
because if the post is @ the top of the list we assume it is new.
lata!!
my 99psd felt like i was going over rumble strips, when i hit a bump...and went away when i hit another. turned out to be the front right axle shaft into the wheel. the needle bearings in the hub never get greased, therefore, my shaft journal had gotten wiped off, and actually vibrated upo and down in the hub. i replaced the shaft, and needle bearngs...problem solved. not saying that your problem, but a place to look. see how much slack you have at the ujoint,up and down.
thanks pexhere, I had the ford techs checkout everything, multipoint inspection, Do you think they would catch that on a multipoint inspection ?? The sway bar bushings were worn and replaced, truck rides alot better now allot quiter, there is still a little noise ,
"klunking" when I hit a hole in the road but I think this is normal due to leaf springs ??
I noticed on the 05's they have a coil spring design, looks nice, heard the 05's ride like a car, really smooth ride..
If you want a really smooth "car like ride" purchase a Chevy. and let us know how the IFS holds up to hard work
However, another item to inspect on your truck is to make sure that the front leaf spring isolater's are still in place- if you don't already know these are basically square pieces of plastic/teflon that sandwhich between the springs in the spring pack. Look under your truck at the front leafs at the rear mounting point and the front mounting point.Look closely they are black in colour and hard to see at first glance. If they are gone-sometimes they "kick-out" , then you can get spring noises going over bumps like you have described with your truck. If missing ,Ford sells a "kit" that gives you all four pads. i don't the part number srry
Also check the torque specs on the bolts where the springs mount. I just did this recently, and mine where quite a bit under spec. I believe its 203ft/lbs for the front frame mount bolt(big 15/16"ths?) and 195ft/lbs where the front spring attaches to the frame at back. Heavy diesel that constantly vibrates loosens things up i suppose. And my track bar bolt was loose too!
