Hey, My 93 ranger 3.0 when i accelearate im getting wicked ticking, like stones almost being thrown off your tires to the frame and body, only happens on acceleration, ive put her in park and reved the engine,no noise. wasnt so bad a week ago now she's getting worse enough to start turning heads on the street, i cant figure it out, ive been under the truck thinking i could duplicate the noise with no luck.the truck still shifts fine for automatic, no slipping or anything, if anyone out there has experienced this and might no whats going on, most appreciative, thanks

 

I'd start by checking the U joints.

i just got in and it does sound pretty bad, are u-joints prone to the sound i described?, i'll start with that i guess

 

could the tranny make a noise like that, drives pretty good although

 

If you get a vibration at speed also, its u-joints for sure...
