Carburetor Casting Numbers?

Take a look at this ...

<img src="http://www.fortestar.com/stuff/IM002323.JPG">
This is the carburetor in my 1960 F-100 daily driver.

<img src="http://www.fortestar.com/stuff/IM002324.JPG">
This is the carburetor out of my project truck, also a 1960 F-100.

They are both Holley 1-barrel carburetors from Ford 223 engines. I am positive that the engine and carburetor in my truck are original, and I am fairly certain that the 223 in the project truck is actually out of a later truck ... it has a PCV system. However, the carburetors appear to be identical, and many numbers cast into them in various places are the same. I was looking for the part number on the second carburetor to order a rebuild kit, but was unable to find one. Although, it turns out I no longer need a rebuild kit ... a good cleaning did the trick.

Here's my question, though. Why is there no part number on this second carburetor? I can't find it <i>anywhere</i>.

Parts truck probably has an aftermarket carb.

That's not the original carb. It's been replaced with a Ford service part carb, Number C1TZ 9510-A. Original carb number was C0TE 9510-S. This carb fit 58-61 with a 223. It is a genuine Ford replacement carb. The non marked carb may be an original carb. Ford stamped them ( as you see ) and also used a tin tag. That second carb probably was rebuilt somewhere along the line and the tag vanished. Common problem. You can have a good parts store such as NAPA get a kit for you. The Ford part number for a kit was C2AZ 9A586-C ( CT-161 ), They can cross over these numbers I've listed.

What you have there is a Holloy Model 1904 Carb for the 223 with a manual tranny.. I also have the same setup in my 1960 F-100.. work quite well

And the reason there no numbers on it is most likly it a rebuilt carb by some aftermarket company.. Could even be a Aftermarket casting..
