I bought a set of Craftsman about 6 or 7 years ago to have in the trunk of
a crown vic that we drive, this set was a 144 piece in the plastic case, well
to my surprise the sockets had layed in the case and they spun around and
around in the case leaving lines all around the chrome! I do understand they
still work fine, they will now rust! Even though there new there not! So if you
haul around a set in your truck or car check them you no longer have a new
set!
By the way my daughter got a set 150 for her graduation 2 years ago because she was in auto body repair they have the same marks from being in the back of her car .

Its always best when you find a tool that happens to be a Craftsman. I found a screw driver on a boat launch while camping. I took it to sears and had a brand new tool.
Just please don't bring them in till they are rusty. Nothing I hate more than swaping out a tool for a customer that has no real damage whatsoever. But that's why you buy Craftsman, easy to get a new tool on warranty.
I always exchange my tools out if they are rusty, or if they are starting to wear. Nothing sucks more than stripping out a screw head because your philips head is worn
On some of those plastic boxes I have cut out a piece of cardboard to set between the lid and the tools. Tightens things up a bit. Just dont use such a thick piece that you have to force the plastic tabs shut.
craftsman used to be a quality tool but now days they are junk. look down the throat of the new sockets... no chroming and the chrome on the outside flakes making them a danger. it hurts like heck when you run a chunk of it under your skin or fingernail . the warranty doesnt do much good if the junk tool breaks right in the middle of a job. also you have to watch out when you exchange a tool chrapsman is now replacing some of their tools with jap crap. save your money , dont waste it on crapsman buy wright brand from farm and fleet. price is better and quality cant be beat. american made also
just found out in another topic that home depot and lowes will take your crapsman tools and exchange them for american made husky tools . i know where im taking my crapsman junk when they break
Home Depot has Husky tools, and they are made in China for Stanley tools. Lowes has Kobalt tools, that are made in the USA by Dahaner Tools. The same people who make Craftsman. And from what I have been told, their ratchets are the same (gut wise) as the Craftsman Pro ratchets. I have also heard (never tried it yet) that HD has stopped the swap promotion.
