AOD Question

Is there supposed to be a spacer between the end of the crankshaft and the flexplate for an AOD install? I know there is a "block plate" sandwiched between the bellhousing and the engine. I get conflicting information and would like to know for sure before I go ahead with this change.

If there is a spacer, what would the Ford part number be?

Nope.
The easiest way to find this type of information is call a Ford parts department.

What kind of changes are you talking about???

I did a change from C6 to AOD, and then; from AOD to E4OD and I had never changed the flexplate...

I probably should have said "change out" or "swap". I've got a rebuilt engine and AOD to put in my '56. Sorry for the confusion.

Yeah I kinda thought that's where I'd end up for the info. Just like to give the folks on these pages a chance at helping, it's a community thing for me.
