LED dash lights?

LED dash lights?
has anyone thought of replacing the dash lights with LED's? i was thinking about that when i was in radio shack the other day, because leds are brighter and they last almost forever. im thinking about trying it to brighten up the guages. should i go with white of blue ones and remove those little blue caps that color the dash light? does this sound possible?

I have. I'm looking to put a replacement cluster in soon as my speedo is all whacky despite having replaced the speedo cable last year. I find the stock lights really dim and I stumbled across these:

Check it out. Looks like they're an exact replacement for the dash bulbs that are in the cluster now.

they do look close... i guess someone beat me to it! if you get them let us know how they turn out. i cant afford them right now, i just got a new steering shaft, its coming any day now $300 bucks yeaoch

I bought mine online from Mouser. mouser.com I bought a green bulb for the one with the blue cap (I'm not going to reinstall the blue cap) as someone had suggested that looks really good. But, I can't get my cluster to light up, so I can't tell you how successful I've been.
