351w ignition problems

i've got a 78 thunderbird with a 351W. the car ran last about 8 years ago. it's been sitting in the barn since then. i am now restoring the car, and am attempting to get it running. it is getting gas fine, but no spark. i replaced the coil, nothing. heres where it gets wierd. there is a cluster of 4 wires coming out of the ignition box with a plug on the end. there is another cluster that plugs into it. when the plug is unhooked, there is power coming out of the ignition box, and from the cluster that plugs into it. when the plug is connected, there is no power. when the ignition box is unplugged, there is power to the coil, but no spark coming out of the coil

i am about ready to burn the car. does anyone know whats going on with this?

There are two plugs on this ignition box correct? If so what are the colors of the wires going to the plug that you are disconnecting and what are the colors of the wires on the plug that you are leaving pluged in?
