Check Engine Light and Jumper Wire
The following site tells how to set up the wire, but doesn't say what to connect it to...

What year vehicle do you have? I'm not sure if that method will work for newer models (95 or 96 and later). If your check engine light is on, you can take it to autozone or other parts store to have them read codes for free.
