lack of power

hey guys, since i rear ended another car ive had power issues. it wasnt a severe accedent so it only touched my core support and shattered the bumper cover and front body work. now, my problem is under normal accell on roads it feels a little weak and then i push the pedal just a tad bit more and i can feel it grip again and really pull like normal. i have normal power most of the time and i only have this problem through slower roads. i was thinking it could either be a fuel pump, or tps...any other ideas? thanks guys

From what you are describing it sounds like your torque converter might be slipping.

Also you did not mention weather or not you have AWD. If so, you might have damaged the front dif or transfer case.

My second 94 AWD has about 158k miles. My 4.0L engine just have a new tune up includes Autolite Dbl Platinum plugs & wires. It doesn't burn any oil thou! I have got the same trouble like SuprajzTwenty. It can reach 90 with full load but accelleration is weak (compare with my first 94 AWD with 70k miles which did burn about a quarter quart each 2500 miles tho).
Could it be the TC?
Thank you,

Just another thought, how old is the cat?

If it is 100K mi+ it could be that when you had the accident you knocked some of the element apart inside and it is clogging the exhaust. So when you punch it the exhaust pressure pushs the piece away enough to allow free movement of the exhaust gasses, (more power from the engine.) An easy check is to have someone push on the gas while on park and you check to see if the exhaust is free flowing at the tail pipe, or does it kind of burp.
