mixture settings

i need to set up a edelbrock 4 barrell carb how would you do that properly

Hi,

The short answer is: Hook a Vac gauge up to a manifold source and adjust the mixture to the highest Vac reading. Then adjust the idle RPM. Repeat steps 1-2.

also depends on what you want to adjust? Idle, cruise or power mixture?

When you say intake vacuum source, will the port for PCV in the carb work? In my 302, I cannot seem to understand where I will get intake vacuum. Also, I do not see any PCV valve or hose comming out.

Hi,

Yes, the port for the PCV will work just fine.

Also you could use any port on the carb that is below the throttle plates.

Your PCV valve should be located in a gromet on one of your your valve covers. It would then have a hose going from the valve to the carb.
