10K mod question

hey guys i did the 10k yesterday and man what a difference, i really like it, but, after a bit i noticed that my check engine light was on, is that normal after the mod was done? i took the 10k out and the engine light never came on again. so i am just wondering if that is normal?

Did the 10k quit working when the cel came on. Most likely your connection came loose. Many have to play with the connection to get it to work. Sounds like the IPR connection just came loose though.

You can get an overboost code or a code for the HPOP if you happen to have a weak one. Get something to read it and see what it says.

Hmmm, on a '02? I have a '03 and thought it couldn't have the mod done but I don't know of any difference between 02 & 03.
Can it be done to the 03?

10k can be done to any 7.3 psd. 1994-2003. Check here for the low down on the 10k. Its pointed more at the OBS trucks but will work for all. I think the only difference is the location of the IPR on the newer trucks.

yeah, without my 5.6K in, i don't throw and CEL's. but with it, it likes to throw them left n right. had it pulled one time (code) and it was the "injector pressure above or below desirable range". only thing that really bugs me is after it throws the light the truck doesn't run the same. kinda bogged down. so i pull off the freeway, let it cool down for a minute, shut off n restart. its fine after that....untill i get into the pedal again that is....

You could try a 1k resister inline with your 5.6 to bump the resistance up a little. That would control your overboost condition.

i tried the 10K first, but liked the 5.6 cause it gave me a little more power. but i might try rigging on up with the 1K

yeah, it feels different for me after i take the resistor out. usually i start in 2nd gear. with the 5.6K in, it gets moving no problem, but if i take the resistor out, it is more sluggish getting going. no change in the way i let out the clutch or give it gas, it just has a little tougher time. from what i think i've heard in the past, it just gives a little mor elow end torque. someone correct me if i'm mistaken. but it DOES make a difference.

redstroker, you mean it just feels sluggish cause you took the resistor out, not sluggish because something is wrong, right? i think i misunderstood you earlier. i thought you meant something screwed up cause of the resistor. i know what you mean now, duh. when i took the 10k out i seemed to have to push the gas a little more to get going, with the 10k in, i only touched the gas a little and away i went. it gave me a lot more bottom end. i just wish i could keep the resistor in without having the check engine light coming on.

yeah, thats it exactly. nothing wrong with it, just feels sluggish. i drove mine for probably 5 months with the 5.6K resistor in, pulled it out for curiosities sake, and can for sure feel the difference. i might try the 10K again, now that i know what it should feel like.
