Importing an old truck from US to Canada
Has anyone done this, or know anything on this subject? I was thinking that I would like to go to Arizona and pick up a 73-79 4x4, SWB. That is what I am looking for (this week anyway, next week, something different )I want something that I can turn into a show truck, but I am wondering how do I import it into Canada? I would like to drive it up, but having it transported wouldn't be an issue.

I would definitely call a Canada customs office and find out what you need to bring it in and what kind of fees you may have to pay, if any. If you drive it, you will need a license plate or something like that--where does it get registered, and when? Seems a trailer would be a lot simpler in that respect.

www.riv.ca had all the info that I needed. Looks like a truck older than 15 years will have no problem at all being imported.
I thought that I would fly down, and buy a truck that is in running condition, and would not need a whole lot of restoration. However, there is no fun in that either!!!
