I am going to have to buy my third fan belt in 5 years. I'm getting sick of the squealing and other crap. What can you all tell me about Gatorback belts? I've only heard that they are really good. Where can I buy them? How much? Are they worth it?
I don't know about that brand, but I think that you're doing pretty well on the life of the belts. I normally change mine every year during my spring tune up session.
I've had my Gatorback belt for a while now and it works great, no slipping or squeels. I got mine at Autozone, the cost was about 35 bucks and to me it was worth the money
I use Dayco "cogged" serpentine belts and have never had an issue with squeal or slipping. I change the belts every six months at my semi-annual maintenance point.
I also have the Dayco cogged belt. I picked mine up at Checkers. The only reason I replaced my old one was because it was spliting. I have not had a problem with the Dayco yet.
