NO my lawyer dosen`t work for free. After the truck has been in the shop for over 69 days and counting and having had to pay over $1300.00 in deductibles and rental car fees. They as in the dealer and FORD do not want to budge or give anything. Reman motor with no warranty other then the 15000 miles I have left on the original one. They would not even pay for a rental while the truck is down for repairs. Take note this is the fith time in for the same repair.

I think I would be frustrated at this point also. Maybe consider a compromise, take the reman and ask them to give you a descent warranty on it. I'd be comfortable with a reman but I would also want a fair warrenty. After all he's gotta be feeling a bit gun shy by now.

again best of luck .
I fought progressive auto insurance once on a comprehensive claim and won.
They wanted to buy me a USED engine after hydrolocking the stock one.
I won.

They tried to.

I won, so no I didn't pay for "betterment".
I made the case of what could possibly be "better" about ripping the car apart to replace the engine.

The engine also came from the source of MY choice and was also installed at the shop of my choice, not a hackjob shop owned by progressive. (They actually wanted to perform the swap at one of their body shops...LOL
They have no shame.

They tried to screw me, and I got them back hard.

They paid over $11,000 after it was said and done.

I'm not sure about other states...but here In Kalif. they can try this scam...but you have all the power over your car with respect to repairs, and where they are done, etc. Now the insurance companies will tell you they have preferred shops that they will steer you towards...and if you choose another shop that is not "preferred", they won't "gauronteeee" the work. This is now illegal in the People's Republic...
You have all the rights as an insurance consumer now. My insurance just paid $1200.00 for a golf ball ding on my truck. I had to chase the golfers down as they tried to escape in their cart. When I caught them...they confessed and gave up their insurance info. hehe

They were in a red cart....not hard to spot. I caught them in the parking lot, loading up their clubs in the trunk of their car....quickly as if to escape. I drove up on them and blocked their car...they confessed and were complete gentlemen about it.
LOL

I shouldn't get involved,but I will.
He wanted a new engine "05" and they refused to do it.Ford doesn't do that only if the truck was a current yr truck.Seen it before.Once you say attorney all work stops!
I wish him luck! Can be a long drawn out process. If you make it to court go for compensation of lost use of the truck !.

Barkweld, keep us up to date !
Best of luck to ya.
