I'm slowly loosing my coils 1 by 1, it's a 2001 V10 with 80,000miles. Is there an after maket for these coils, as its costing me a fortune. Does anybody have a part #.
Thanks
Im sure what V10MARS stated is what the dealer used since it was a whole new coil wire an not a repair job. Which at 60$ would leave them there shop fee, making it a 100$. Either way im a happy camper as long as a plug dont go shooting out...lol.
Thats the only reason i took it to the dealer, because i did'nt want flying plugs! These are CDN prices but after 4 replacements, + labour + diagnostic, i'm getting shafted!!!

Yep. The early ones (Standard) even had the Ford PN stamped on them.
Plugs should be ok, but I would replace them anyway. We have a lot of 5.4/6.8 COP in our fleet. 80,000~90,000 seems to be the norm here in Florida before they start to fail. If the unit has more than 75,000 when the fisrt one fails I have my techs replace plugs and all. (Our units get lots of idle time.)
