I don't think most alignment machines check left to right front alignment on trucks.
Funny you should say that. I must have called a dozen alignment shops and asked them if they could check that and they all had the same response, "huh!, you want us to check what?" I finally found a shop that does frame repair work, suspension and alignment that could do it. The shop also said my dealership probably could have done it. But I'm not sure it's such a good idea to ask my dealership to check to make sure that I didn't screw something up when I put that "Non-Ford Authorized" lift on.
Well I am about to throw a wrench at my truck! Today I popped off my new Fabtech Adjustable track bar to get my axle centered. My thought was to pop off the ProComp Track Bar Dropdown bracket and put the stock on. Did that, got it all together, used a comealong and tapemeasure and got the axle DEAD CENTER. Then I just happend to look at my factory trackbar bracket and to my demise it hits the pitman arm and when the wheels turned full left the pitman arm hits the bolt on the bracket connecting the trackbar to the bracket! I am out of options or ideas here. Why is it that Fabtech's Trackbar is 1/2" longer than stock? Thinking about popping off the adjuster collar and cutting 1/4" off of each end. Anyone? Anyone?
I have a 2.5inch lift on the front with the Fabtech adj bar and as far as I know it went on fine. If I remember right, the eurekaboy website cut some of his bar off. Check out his site.
I'm sorry to hear your still having probelems. I completely forgot that with a drop pitman arm the stock trac bar bracket would get hit. Here is the last thing I can think of that may be causing a problem. Like I mentioned earlier most other manufacturers trac bar relocation brackets have two holes to mount the trac bar in. One for lifts up to 6.5", normally the top hole. And one for lifts up to 10", the bottom hole. The ProComp bracket has only one hole and that hole may be positioned wrong for a Fabtech (or any other) adjustable trac bar. If you can find a picture of a Fabtech drop bracket you'll see what I mean. Their may be a picture in the instructions for the trac bar, I'm not sure. That's the only other thing I can think of that would cause the problem.
Just to throw my two cents worth in here, what about ordering a track bar relocation bracket from another manufacturer? I installed my Superlift kit yesterday and today, and my bracket has 2 holes. My kit was 4" and I put my adjustable track bar in the upper hole. Best I can tell, my axle is centered. I will have it verified when it goes in for an alignment.
By the way, hc130flyboy, by looking at your post being in Tucson, you must have been in the stall next to me yesterday. I was in the Silver 250.

Ken,
You are absolutly correct! It was me next to you! HAHA small world! How did your lift turn out? You happy with it?
As for the track bar...I took it off today and cut 1/4" off each side and chased the threads with a thread chaser. That corrected it, the axle is now dead center and man, a new trackbar that fits is a night and day difference in ride quality even though Im sitting on PRO CRAP! It tightend everything up and there is no more creaking. I am going to order a set of 8" Superlift springs this week and hopefully be done with the suspension so I can move on to on board air.
BTW Ken shoot me a PM if you ever want to come out 4wheeling with us. I am usally the only superduty in a pack of jeeps! (usually their way home, Jeeps break too much)

Lift turned out great. Looking for an alignment shop just to double check everything and center the steering wheel. I could do the steering wheel, but I have 20,000 since my last alignment anyway. Thanks for the offer to to go wheeling, but most of my wheeling is when I am out in the middle of nowhere hunting. Not much hardcore stuff. Only slight problem I have is a little axle-wrap when I accelerate. So far I am happy with Superlift.
Didn't it ever occur to anyone that mixing different brands of aftermarket suspension products may not work properly. How can you expect one company's track bar to work with another company's track bar bracket ??? Maybe you should have gotten a bar & bracket made by the same company. If one company makes their bracket longer, and the other company makes their bar longer, they WILL NOT work together. I think that is exactly what happened here !!!
I just put a Pro Crap 6.5 lift on my truck I was going to put a Sky Jacker system on instead but I let to the sale man talk me in to getting the Pro Crap to saved some money.
What a mistake that was never again get Pro Crap, I stay with Sky Jacker And I had Sky Jacker on my old Power Wagon and it had a much better ride and it fit with out fighting it.
Did you have a problem with the steering clunking on hard left turns could this be my track bar ? I had to load this **** pretty hard to get it to fit It was about 1/2 to 3/4 inch to short.
I had a tough time getting the Track bracket to line up all so
If your truck is a gasser than you will need an adjustable track bar. The procrap system is a "one size fits all but best for diesel" system. I had a little issue of my tire rubbing the spring pack at full right turns. The clunk could be attributed to not getting the track bar bolts on tight enough. They take like 260-300 some ft lbs.
Good luck with your system. I am still running my pro crap and managed to get it to settle down. I installed a winch with 3/8" steel and greased all the packs and the wraps it seems to have smoothed it out a little better.
Thanks I rfan the track bar down with a air impack tool I will try it again and see what happens And I am running a gas motor, I buy a adjustable track bar next but not from Pro Crap.
Is your engine a 5.4 or V10? I had to use a comealong to get my axle completly centered under the truck. Just a thought, but I do know that when I had the stock track bar it caused my drivers side to appear to sag, it was due to having a too short track bar.
Good Luck! also check the bolts on the track bar drop bracket. If you want to avoid what I had to do by cutting my adjustable track bar to make it shorter, buy a superlift or fabtech track bar bracket with an adjustable trackbar, this way you can either use the 4" or 6" hole or 6" or 8" hole depending on which one you buy. pro crap only put one hole in ours.
