Interval for changing......
I was wondering what the safe interval is for changing my oil. In the past I have used 3500miles but that seems so frequent for all the driving. Mine is mostly driving without heavy loads if that makes a difference. THANKS

medic 66, hi there as you are aware im sure thatyou know that keeping your oil changed on a regular basis is one of the best ways to keep your engine running real good, I think the book says 5,ooo miles is recomended, but that might be a bit to long. I have changed my oil every 4000 and that seems to work for me. I dont have to add any oil in between changes its been a good motor to me in that respect.now I have recently switched to shell synthetic with the oil guard filter system and going to keep an eye on it and see if I can get longer milage than with regular shell rotella. but back to your question. on how long to run your oil. I still think you are good, maybe you can go a little longer than you are but I think a little sooner is far better than running your oil too far.its looks to me that you take good car of your truck. just my thoughts 01psd
